The acclaimed collaborative project Xavier, bringing together visionary musicians, an acclaimed recording engineer, and some of Japan's most exciting vocal talents, returns with a long-awaited reissue of its sought-after double A-side 7-inch featuring chelmico and Moeka Shiotsuka (Hitsujibungaku).
On Side A, ""Call In Sick feat. chelmico"" delivers an irresistible blend of hip-hop, groove, and sophisticated pop, driven by chelmico's signature chemistry and backed by an all-star lineup including guitarist Masayuki Ishii, bassist Masato Suzuki (LITTLE CREATURES), saxophonist/flutist Toru Nishiuchi, and drummer Takashi Numazawa.
Side B, ""Kyutai"", features the ethereal vocals of Moeka Shiotsuka (Hitsujibungaku), surrounded by a richly textured performance from celebrated musicians including Yumiko Ohno (Buffalo Daughter) on bass and Tatsuhisa Yamamoto on drums. The result is a beautifully atmospheric and emotionally resonant piece that showcases the project's refined musical vision.
With sound production by Masayuki Ishii, recorded and mixed by legendary engineer ZAK (known for his work with Ryuichi Sakamoto and many others), and featuring artwork by acclaimed illustrator Mayu Yukishita, this 7-inch is a premium showcase of Japan's contemporary independent music scene."
