Early Music collects Voxtrot’s celebrated Raised By Wolves and Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives EPs together, compiling the recordings that first introduced the Austin band as one of the defining voices of the mid-2000s indie blog era, alongside peers Vampire Weekend, Grizzly Bear and The National. Originally released separately in 2005 and 2006, the EPs captured the raw ambition, emotional immediacy, and melodic songwriting that quickly earned Voxtrot an international following.
Anchored by “The Start of Something” — now widely regarded as an indie classic with over 80 million streams — these recordings introduced listeners to the band’s distinctive blend of post-punk energy, jangling indie-pop, and deeply heartfelt lyricism, establishing Voxtrot as one of the era’s most beloved independent cult bands.
The first pressing of Early Music was released in 2022 as part of Voxtrot’s highly anticipated reunion. Limited to 2,000 copies worldwide, the vinyl edition swiftly sold out and has since become a sought-after collector’s item, regularly commanding high resale prices on Discogs, where copies often sell quickly after appearing for sale.
Following acclaimed reunion tours and the release of their 2026 album Dreamers In Exile, Early Music stands as both a historical snapshot of a transformative moment in indie music and a timeless collection of songs that continue to resonate with new generations of listeners.

Shipping

- We send all postal orders via Royal Mail's 48 hour tracked service. Your tracking number will be added to your order upon fulfilment

- Orders can be placed for collection from either of our stores (Oxford or Witney)
