A reunion of sorts, happening in the 1990s at the South Bay beach area of L.A. . The Chantays at the time were on a monster comeback with a new album. Newfound energy is felt in the room and also in the recording. The guy who only got a only a couple of songs, almost stole the night - Davie Allan & The Arrows - "King Of The Fuzz Guitar". Sometimes an all star kind of night needs a little shake up. Davie Allan does it that. The crowd wanted more. The well known songs by the other artists were done with a little more edge which was a welcome change instead of a straight rehash. So the album ends up coming off as a celebration for what was at the time the 3rd Wave. It was recorded by Beach Boys sound mixer Mark Linett. It obvious they highlighted the best songs from an all day and night full sets. A fun release, better late than never, for followers of of the genre. It doesn't replace the original versions, but does give them a fresh coat of paint.
