We’re back with another unmissable celebration of 1980s pop from the second half of the decade! This brand-new 3CD sequel brings together a 60 huge classic hits from 1985–1989.
CD1 kicks off in style with Wham!’s ‘I’m Your Man’, setting up a fantastic run of pop favourites from A-ha, Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet. Falco turns up the energy with ‘Rock Me Amadeus’, followed by memorable hits from Holly Johnson, Alison Moyet and ABC. Swing Out Sister’s ‘Breakout’ and Level 42’s ‘Something About You’ sit alongside Wet Wet Wet, Johnny Hates Jazz and Nik Kershaw, while Nick Kamen and Brother Beyond keep the hits coming before Bros round things off with ‘When Will I Be Famous?’.
CD2 is packed with feel-good pop and dancefloor favourites, starting with Dead Or Alive’s unmistakable ‘You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)’. London Boys, Liza Minnelli, Hazell Dean and Dollar are followed by international hits from Sabrina with ‘Boys (Summertime Love)’ and Spagna with ‘Call Me’. Sinitta, Sister Sledge and Yazz & The Plastic Population continue the party, alongside Jermaine Stewart’s ‘We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off’, Five Star’s ‘System Addict’ and DeBarge’s ‘Rhythm Of The Night’. Gloria Estefan’s infectious ‘1-2-3’ makes way for Lisa Stansfield and the timeless ‘All Around the World’ to close the disc.
CD3 opens with one of the defining songs of the decade, Tears For Fears’ ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’, followed by Boy Meets Girl’s ‘Waiting for a Star to Fall’ and Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes’ ‘(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life’. Billy Ocean, Tiffany, The Bangles and Pretenders deliver more huge 80s favourites, before Aztec Camera, Maxi Priest, Boy George and UB40 bring their own distinctive sounds to the mix. Eighth Wonder, Martika, Matt Bianco and The Four Tops feature as the collection heads towards its finale, with Climie Fisher’s ‘Love Changes (Everything)’, Danny Wilson’s ‘Mary’s Prayer’ and The Dream Academy’s ‘Life in a Northern Town’ paving the way for a perfectly chosen final track, Fairground Attraction’s ‘Perfect’.
