Critically acclaimed 2010 companion album to receive limited-edition LP treatment exclusively for Black Friday.
Indefatigable psychedelic folk-rock mainstays The Coral have announced that ‘Butterfly House Acoustic’ will finally be released on vinyl for the very first time. Originally released as a highly limited CD in December 2010, this stripped-down, intimately reimagined version of their sixth studio album has long been a sought-after gem for collectors and completists alike.
Recorded and mixed live in a single, whirlwind day following a series of rapturously received acoustic promotional gigs, ‘Butterfly House Acoustic’ captures the band at their most raw and melodic. Stripping away the lush, grand production of the original John Leckie-produced sessions, the acoustic record spotlights the pure songwriting craft of James Skelly and co., letting the eerie folk harmonies, intricate guitar pickings, and timeless melodies take centre stage.
"We always loved how the songs sounded when we played them completely stripped back in the room together," says frontman James Skelly. "The acoustic promo shows had a magic to them, so we just went into the studio and tracked the whole thing live in a day. It’s been a fan favourite for years”.
The upcoming limited-edition vinyl pressing features fully restored artwork and has been specially remastered for the format to preserve the warm, intimate atmosphere of the original live studio performance.
