Somewhere between the rolling hills of England and the fading glow of the American dream, a signal has started broadcasting. They call it Radio Free Silverado. a fictional 1970s-inspired radio station broadcasting songs, stories, visuals, live sessions and transmissions from the Silverado universe. Part late-night transmission, part imagined pirate radio station, a cinematic universe surrounding the new album from Our Man in the Field. Silverado is more than a record release -- it is the beginning of an entire world audiences can step into. Led by British songwriter Alex Ellis, Our Man in the Field have quietly become one of the most compelling independent live acts operating in the UK and Europe. Built almost entirely through relentless touring and word of mouth, the band have played more than 150 shows in the last year alone, including Glastonbury Festival's Acoustic Stage, Hyde Park with Neil Young, and tours alongside Chuck Prophet, The Delines and Jackson Dean. Recorded at Mark Knopfler's British Grove Studios and produced by Guy Fletcher, the album captures a band operating at a new level creatively and sonically. The record blends widescreen storytelling, late-night soul, broken highway romance and relatable human songwriting into something that feels both timeless and strangely modern. The cast of musicians involved reflects the ambition of the project: Ethan Johns (who's father Glynn sat in on some of the sessions), Sonny Landreth, P.P. Arnold, Robbie McIntosh, Nick Pini, Will Fry and Guy Fletcher all contribute to a record that feels expansive without ever losing emotional intimacy.
