from the explosive 1970s Nuyorican barrios of the Bronx and
East Harlem emerged the Orquesta La Super “C”, conducted
by the enigmatic bandleader Vicente Guzman. Never
commercialised, pure street-level energy. This is Salsa Dura
(Hard Salsa) at its absolute finest.
A rare, elusive underground powerhouse of an album is finally
brought back to life after almost 50 years in obscurity. Raw, fast-
paced, horn-heavy, and percussion-packed arrangements that
captured the grit and social commentary of 1970s working-
class Latino New York. Relentless, high-energy rhythms
designed to pack club floors, reminiscent of legendary
Manhattan venues like The Cheetah.

Shipping
