In continuation of the critically acclaimed album Momoko from Momoko Gil, Strut proudly presents 2close2farr backed with Ineffably recorded live at the iconic BBC Maida Vale Studios recorded in February 2026 in session for Gi les Peterson.

Momoko has long been one of the UK electronic and jazz scene’s best-kept secrets. A self-taught drummer, producer, songwriter, and vocalist, she has brought her unique touch to collaborations with Alabaster DePlume, Matthew Herbert, Coby Sey, Tirzah, and Nadeem Din-Gabisi. Extensive touring behind the drum kit, at the keys and in front of the mic have honed her compositional and production instincts.

Recorded with bandmates Tamar Osbourn (baritone saxophone, flute), Mei Kirby (piano), Ezekiel Ajie (bass), Miryam Solomon and Inês Loubet (backing vocals, percussion), these two striking tracks from the album sit side-by-side showcasing the strength of Gi l’s composition and musical dexterity live. Remarked as “One of the best Maida Vale sessions we’ve recorded” by BBC 6Music’s Giles Peterson, we couldn’t agree more that these tracks deserved a release of their own. Two beautifully composed tracks, now available as a limited pressing of only 1000 copies, on black 7" vinyl for Record Store Day Black Friday 2026.

Track List:

A. 2close2farr (BBC Maida Vale Session)
