"After the Flood" pairs warm acoustic guitars and an earthy seventies folk-rock groove with British singer-songwriter Jon Allen's distinctive, soulful vocal. A song about resilience and starting again, its refrain "I'll come crawling from the mud" captures its quiet defiance. The focus track from his eighth studio album, The Wolves Are Running, released 23 October 2026, draws on the intimate songwriting of an artist who has supported Damien Rice.
