Orange County's Ignite return in 2027 with 'Still Wide Awake', their most urgent and uncompromising album to date. Formed in 1993 and built on the foundations of melodic hardcore, raw intensity and lyrics that carry real weight, Ignite have spent more than three decades proving that punk and hardcore still have something vital to say.
'Still Wide Awake' marks a pivotal moment for the band. Returning to a focused four piece with vocalist Eli Santana, bassist Brett Rasmussen, guitarist Nik Hill and drummer Craig Anderson, the record strips things back to the raw energy of their 90s formation while pushing into darker, heavier territory. The result is some of the fastest, angriest music of their career, woven through with metal, thrash and dark gothic undertones, that are entirely their own.
Lyrically the album refuses to look away at hard topics. Tracks confront the personal, social and political battles American immigration enforcement, reproductive rights and the unspoken weight of men's mental health. The title track opens the record with a call to stop sleepwalking and take responsibility for ourselves and each other. Expect the usual uncompromising conviction and energy that Ignite give on record and on stage. Their incendiary shows have lead them to share stages with Bad Religion, Rise Against, Suicidal Tendencies and Avenged Sevenfold, and tear up festival stages across the globe for over thirty years.
'Still Wide Awake' is released on the band's own imprint, 93RPM Records (via Lockjaw Records in the UK) a statement of independence and community that is in keeping with everything they stand for.
