With a career spanning six decades and classics including Alone Again (Naturally), Clair and Get Down, Gilbert remains a singular voice in British songwriting. Admired by artists including Paul Weller and Tim Burgess, his wit, warmth and melodic craftsmanship continue to resonate with audiences old and new.
Produced by Gilbert alongside Andy Wright (Simple Minds, Eurythmthmics, Jeff Beck), On The Record finds Gilbert continuing to write with the insight, melody and understated humour that have defined his remarkable career. Highlights include the soulful It's Me, with its unmistakable seventies feel and echoes of Steely Dan; the duet Is That You? featuring Andrea Corr of The Corrs; and the wryly autobiographical Growing Old Disgracefully, where Gilbert quips that "growing old disgracefully beats the hell out of staying well." Mixed by Tony Hoffer (Air, Beck, Belle and Sebastian), the album balances intimacy with rich, timeless production, allowing Gilbert's voice and songwriting to take centre stage.
Released more than 55 years after his debut album Himself, On The Record is further proof of Gilbert O'Sullivan's enduring creativity. Honest, melodic and unmistakably his own, it is a welcome new chapter in one of British popular music's most distinctive songwriting careers.

Shipping
