The last of the initial run of so-influential Kent LPs in the 1980s (1990 for this) was Garland Green's "The Spring Sides" Kent 097
As well as showcasing his magnificent, nine released 45 tracks, it debuted three equally good unreleased numbers of which 'Come Through Me' gained most of the plaudits. That track became a Modern Soul anthem, but over the years 'Since You've Been Gone' has become almost as popular and was crying out for a 45 release. In actual fact, there were four previously unheard tracks on that LP as we inadvertently put on an alternate take of 'Just Loving You' featuring a sizeable rap at the start, before Garland slips into that memorable vocal. This is the first time DJs will have a 45 to spin to the dancefloors.
