In a digital timespace stalked by the shifting and pixelating apex predator of Desire Optimization, fling ii has decided that a humble american neokrautrock n-gon of various part time participants lacks the resourcing and relevant domain knowledge to meaningfully compete with the Leviathan of Hypertargeted Urge Satisfaction. The market for pursuing what people actually want is supersaturated, leaving a marketable capability gap for those creating things nobody wants or asked for. 3 is an album entirely diegetic to the experience of making itself, a meta expression of the process of it’s own creation, a purely inward facing auto-response.

Drawing on the vastness of parking lots, the prismatic strangeness of online ads for walking tai chi, and the passive performance of the basket of fruit in a gas station, 3 offers a bespoke cut of unoptimized, nonperfected krautrock, cosmic country, new age, and classic synthesis. Growing on the vine over two days in the studio, followed by an extensive process of roasting, grinding, and percolating in the lab, the aptly titled 3 brings a reclining, spacious volume to the solid of fling ii’s triptych catalog.

Shipping
