FELIVAND is a vocalist, producer, songwriter and bassist based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. With a sound blended in alt-pop, alternative R&B and bedroom pop, her music is melancholic, suave and soothingly introspective.

hey you is the lead single from FELIVAND’s upcoming album my body’s my true north - a cathartic track that captures the emotional fallout of being misled and left in the dark. Anchored by a brooding synth bass line and later reimagined around nylon guitars, the song evolved from gritty and swaggy to soft, sparkly, and introspective. The track was co-produced and co-written by Simon Lam (Kllo, Lastlings, Ralph Castelli) in his studio on a rainy day in the meat district. “The day of the recording session felt like a space for me to fully dive into those feelings and confront that cowardice. Leaning into that gave birth to the hey you hook—kind of like a ‘hey you, yeah you, I’m talking to you’ statement,” says FELIVAND on the process and concept of the album, this was an entirely new, uninhibited and expansive direction for FELIVAND. “The concept of the album is all about trusting feeling over thought. It’s a stepping into and an acceptance of the stories, experiences and memories that shape who I am. When I listen to what my body’s telling me, it feels like an unwavering light at the end of the tunnel, an orienting point - something fixed like a ‘true north’ while everything else around it spins. When I follow thought, I'm in with everything that’s spinning.”
