chart dominance of Eddy Arnold, "The Tennessee
Plowboy," during his golden era between 1946
and 1955. Arnold was a true pioneer, blending
traditional country melodies with a smooth,
urbane baritone that earned him unprecedented
crossover success and set the stage for the
modern Nashville Sound.
Side A features the legendary hits that made him
a national sensation, including his record-
breaking No. 1s: “I’ll Hold You In My Heart” (No.
1 for 21 weeks) and the enduring “Bouquet Of
Roses” (No. 1 for 19 weeks). These tracks not
only topped the country charts but outsold the
entire pop division of RCA Victor in 1948.
Side B continues the run of success with later
classics like “Don’t Rob Another Man’s Castle,”
“There’s Been A Change In Me,” and the deeply
sentimental “I Really Don’t Want To Know.” The
side closes with his perennial theme song, “The
Cattle Call.” Featuring 17 landmark recordings,
