In This Body Lives is the breathtaking debut album by Dartmoor-raised, London-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dominie Hooper. Produced and mixed by Ben Hillier (Depeche Mode, Blur, Nadine Shah), the album is steeped in memory, the search for self and the timeless power of voices raised in ritualistic union. It’s a dramatic, intimate and electrifying record that channels the ruggedness of Dominie’s upbringing through textured layers of cello and guitar, anchored by a blistering live band. Set for release on 12” vinyl and digital platforms on October 31, 2025 – the date of the ancient Celtic festival Samhain – the album promises to establish Dominie as a compelling new voice in alt-folk. Influences range from the brooding swagger of Richard and Linda Thompson to the raw energy of Magnolia Electric Co. and PJ Harvey.

The 10-track album includes singles ‘Land’, ‘Hurricane’, ‘Weaver’, and ‘Animal’ – each exploring themes of transformation, identity and place. Dominie’s compositions are fleshed out by a core trio of trusted collaborators – drummer Dave Hamblett, guitarist Phil Self, and bassist Twm Dylan – while choral voices recur throughout, linking the album to ancient traditions of communal song. Completed over a transformative summer at Hillier’s studio on a Sussex farm, In This Body Lives is what Dominie calls “an origin story – pictures that I hope people will find themselves inside.”
