Punk Royalty Brian James ( Founder of the Damned : The First British punk band to release a single The Brian James penned “New Rose”. The First British punk band to release an album, predominantly written by James, Damned Damned Damned. The first British punk band to play America and the first punk band to split (with James walking out in early 1978). James later went on to have success with ex dead Boys singer Stiv Bator, Sham 69’s Dave Treganna and Barracudas Nick Turner in the Lords of the New Church)
