Just like for their previous album, “Chuparosa,” DAILY THOMPSON flew back to Seattle to record their eighth album with Tony Reed (Mos Generator, Pentagram, Constance Tomb), played a few shows along the way, and soaked up the atmosphere of the city and its surroundings. And you can clearly sense, hear, and feel the damp American Northwest with its entire musical history in every groove, with every spin. An album that seems to have sprung from the heyday of the ’90s. Subtly grungy, alternative, full of melancholy and serenity in the vocal lines. More melodic than ever, catchy and captivating, yet always imbued with the gritty, rough-edged patina of alternative rock. The band has succeeded in incorporating new influences and evolving once again without losing their identity or thei signature sound. The highlights are always the dual vocals, when Danny Zaremba and Mercedes Lalakakis sing together or take turns.

With “Glue,” DAILY THOMPSON demonstrate above all that they are not only masterful musicians, but also possess a deep sense of atmosphere and emotion — and, above all, a knack for songwriting. An exceptional album that, oscillating between melancholy and pure musical joy, takes the listener on a journey from the American Northwest to the northwest of thier hometown Dortmund. DAILY THOMPSON have played hundreds of shows across Europe in recent years, winning hearts everywhere with their charisma and their songs. Now invitations to festivals in Spain and America are on the table. They’re also set to embark on their first headlining tour of England, having won over friends and fans there while supporting Monster Magnet. The three singles “Heart of Bones” “BTK” and “Fake A Smile” are definitely worth checking out. But a band so deeply rooted in the ’90s certainly knows how to appreciate and fill an album-length format. DAILY THOMPSON tell stories and, when writing songs, place little value on short radio or Spotify formats, instead happily pushing past the six-, seven-, or eight-minute mark. And that’s a good thing, because that’s why we love them."
