Sayonara Paranoia is the forthcoming 5th album from South Wales songwriter Captain Accident, rooted firmly in reggae and ska, while drawing on the rock and punk influences that have shaped his songwriting over the years
Built around traditional reggae and ska rhythms, the album moves between upbeat, faster- paced ska tracks and softer reggae moments, with infectious grooves and melodic hooks throughout. Lyrically, it explores themes of resilience, anxiety, love, heartbreak and hope.
A defining feature of the Captain Accident sound is its distinctive twin- guitar approach, alongside rich vocal harmonies and an honest, observational lyrical style. These elements give the album depth, melody and character, complementing the infectious grooves and traditional reggae and ska rhythms throughout.
Entirely written, recorded and produced by Captain Accident, Sayonara Paranoia continues his independent DIY approach while developing the reggae and ska sound established across his previous releases.
Sayonara Paranoia will be supported by a focused UK PR and promotional campaign, targeting reggae, ska and roots music media alongside relevant rock, punk and independent outlets, radio and digital platforms. The campaign will be supported by the lead single "Slither on the Dashboard", released in February 2026, with its accompanying music video providing a strong visual and storytelling hook. Further singles and music videos are planned to support the album campaign and maintain momentum around the release.
The album will be supported by an extensive UK tour with Captain Accident and his six-piece live band, The Disasters, launching in the Captain's hometown of Cardiff at Clwb Ifor Bach on 23 October, before travelling across England and Wales through to December.
Promotional activity will draw on previous appearances at Boomtown Fair, Isle of Wight Festival, Wilderness, Bestival, Cornbury, Mucky Weekender and Rototom Sunsplash, alongside three full UK tours supporting Toots and the Maytals and support slots with Aswad, The Abyssinians, Alborosie, Steel Pulse and Less Than Jake.
