Portland’s Roman Norfleet (Cosmic Tones Research Trio, MerKaBa Brotherhood) and Be Present Art Group extend their incredible outpouring of spiritual, liberatory music.
Sax, keys, electronics, a heavy rhythm section and powerful vocals drive songs like first single “Headed On To Freedom,” swirling auditory excursions for fans of Pharoah Sanders, Art Ensemble of Chicago, and the Sun Ra Arkestra.
The Remembering is sonic libation for those who came before us. Drawing from Black American history, revolutionary thought, and the enduring spirit of resistance, the music weaves in echoes of the figures, movements, and ideas that have shaped generations. It honors the past while carrying its spirit into the present.
