Sanders, known for his evolution from fierce free‑jazz to deeply lyrical spiritualist, plays here with warmth, focus and emotional clarity. Hicks meets him with luminous touch, rich voicings and an intuitive sense of space that elevates every phrase.
Together they deliver a beautifully balanced set of Coltrane classics “Giant Steps”, “Central Park West”, original compositions such as “Heart To Heart” and more timeless standards. This first-ever vinyl release of the legendary Duo Concert Frankfurt 1986 is a spiritual partnership. The double album is available now and includes new liner-notes by jazz journalist Bret Primack. Affixed on the protective sleeve is the 50th Anniversary Timeless Jazz sticker.
