Rooted in Providence, Rhode Island, Sugar On Blackstone draws heavily from Hersh’s reflections on home, displacement and memory. The album’s title references Blackstone Boulevard and Hope Street in Providence, locations that become symbolic throughout the record of both loss and endurance.
