Born in Kentucky, singer, songwriter and producer Chris Stapleton is one of Nashville's most respected artists. In his 15-year career, he has already achieved number one hits, Grammy nominations, contributions to film soundtracks, and the respect of his colleagues. Now follows a new album. Stapleton released his long-awaited Traveller debut on Mercury Records Nashville (Universal Music). The release is one of the few that Conunt and mainstream audiences were equally excited about. Stapleton, whose voice does not seem to be of this world, earned recognition in countless recording studios and anonymous writing rooms on Music Row, but also on stage — as a headliner of his own tours and as an opener for the genre's most popular artists. He has written five number 1 hits for George Strait, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker and Josh Turner, and his works can be heard on several soundtracks of well-known films. He was also nominated for three Grammys and was awarded the International Bluegrass Music Association's Newcomer of the Year with his band The SteelDrivers. As a songwriter, he moves in all genres and writes for artists such as Adele and Jason Aldean. He has been to the studio with Miranda Lambert, Don Williams and many others. Traveller was inducted into Nashville's historic RCA Studio A (additional production work took place at The Castle and Blackbird Studio) and was produced by Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell). Vance Powell (Jack White) provided the right sound when recording. In addition to interpretations by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove's “Tennessee Whiskey” and Don Sampson's “What It 26”, the album includes twelve of Stapleton's own songs, such as the fan favorites “Sometimes I Cry”. During an album presentation party, Stapleton returned to RCA Studio A to record a new version of “Sometimes I Cry” right in front of the audience, providing a unique insight into the album's creation process. The finished mastered track will also be featured on the album. Stapleton said of the album: “The record would not have been possible without the support of friends, family and other heroes. I hope people have as much fun listening as I do when recording. ”
