Originally released in 1992, Black Moon marked the return of Emerson, Lake & Palmer after a fourteen-year studio absence. Reuniting Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer for a new era, the album pairs the band’s trademark technical edge with a leaner, early 90s production style.
This 2CD 2017 remastered edition presents the original album with upgraded clarity and balance, restoring weight to the rhythm section and definition to Emerson’s keyboard work. Tracks such as the driving title cut “Black Moon” and the melodic “Affairs of the Heart” underline a record that encapsulates classic prog ambition.
The second disc expands the set with bonus material including B-sides and additional recordings from the period, offering a broader picture of ELP’s final studio chapter.
