We’re back for Dinked 91 – the new album from Art Pop auteur William Doyle. Great Spans Of Muddy Time is released on March 19th by Tough Love.
Fresh from 2019’s utterly fantastic Your Wilderness Revisited (and producing fellow Dinked artist Anna B Savage’s latest album), William Doyle set about crafting a new set of his intricate pastoral Art-Pop songs, but disaster struck as his hard-drive failed. With only a cassette backup remaining, Doyle had to learn to accept the small imperfections of these tracks and release them as they are. The result is a beautiful collection of songs, with a distinctly English influence from Syd Barrett, Robyn Hitchcock, Robert Wyatt and Berlin-era Bowie, combined with the subtle electronics of his earlier work as East India Youth.
The Dinked Edition of Great Spans Of Muddy Time is on 500 limited and hand numbered ‘Algal Bloom’ colour vinyl with a bonus 7″ featuring 2 exclusive songs.
