We’re back with Dinked 193 – the debut album from Japanese experimental vocal artist Hatis Noit. First emerging with her Matmos-produced 2018 debut EP, Illogical Dance, Hatis Noit makes beautiful neoclassical compositions using only her voice. Recorded in less than 8 hours in Berlin just before the pandemic hit, Noit then took the tracks back to East London for extensive mixing sessions with Erased Tapes founder Robert Raths and engineer Marta Salogni (Björk, Anna Meredith, FKA Twigs), including reamping the whole album inside a church for ambience. The result is a uniquely human yet otherworldly album, with Noit’s voice transformed into an instrument which soars above beautifully layered harmonies, steeped in cavernous ambience. Aura is released on June 24th by Erased Tapes.
