Dinked 147 is the debut album from Brooklyn-based synthpop duo Fine Place. This New Heaven is released on November 19th by Night School.
Formed of Frankie Rose (Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls) and Matthew
Hord (Running, Pop. 1280, Brandy), Fine Place began as a reaction to the almost dystopian feel of New York at the height of the pandemic. This New Heaven renders the city in cyberpunk technicolour, full of echoing guitars and synths that wouldn’t feel out of place on the Blade Runner OST. Tying the album together is Rose’s washed out vocal, often blending seamlessly into the atmospheric wash. This is a truly brilliant work of ambient pop, sure to please all fans of retro electronics and washed-out atmospherics.
