Dinked 181 is the debut physical release from multi-instrumentalist and producer CARRTOONS. First coming to prominence in neo-soul group Mad Satta, Ben Carr has been quietly making a name for himself as one of the most hotly in-demand producers on the scene, working with artists including Robert Glasper, Kiefer and Butcher Brown. Fusing soul, funk, hip-hop and jazz into his beats, CARRTOONS recalls the best of Dilla and Madlib by way of Thundercat, at once in-the-pocket and wonkily off-kilter, and featuring guests as varied as Lettuce’s Nigel Hall and Rae Khalil, all rolled into his Modern Motown sound.
