Anyone with more than a passing interest in sound design needs to get ‘Bolted’ before the proverbial horse has! This is the third full length album from The Wirral’s Matthew Edward Barnes, not including his debut EP ‘Dagger Paths’ that came out in 2010 at the height of the hauntological scene featuring the likes of Demdike Stare, the Tri Angle (RIP) roster and, to a degree, Burial. Have no fear, despite this sounding immaculate, this is no case of style over substance, rather the songs shimmer with an obsidian-dark beauty that makes it a perfect nighttime experience.
