Sarah Neufeld – Detritus, Dinked Edition Pre-order
Dinked 96 comes to us from Canadian experimental composer and violinist Sarah Neufeld. Detritus is released on May 14th by One Little Independent.
Best known for her work as a member of Arcade Fire and Bell Orchestre, Sarah Neufeld makes experimental violin music to escape into. For her third album, Detritus, Neufeld worked with legendary Canadian choreographer Peggy Baker, composing a larger suite of music for Baker’s performances which the pair toured in 2019. Detritus was recorded at the beginning of 2020 with fellow Arcade Fire member Jeremy Gara, who added percussion to Neufeld’s hypnotic looped violin, with the album exploring the depths of darkness, death, intimacy and the ego self.
