fuyu-ni-wakarete-forgotten
Fuyu Ni Wakarete - Forgotten

Following the release of her original album "Shu shine" in September 2024 and the cover album "Watashi no Suki na Rodoka" in June 2025, Saho Terao has continued an active and prolific career. Closely involved in those works is bassist Wataru Iga, who, in addition to collaborating with Terao, has supported a wide range of artists including Haruomi Hosono, Kayoko Yoshizawa, and Kaori Mochida. Drummer Reisaburo Adachi, meanwhile, is not only a musician but also a healer, traveling throughout Japan and tending to people's minds and bodies. Since releasing their first album "Nanni mo Iranai" in 2018, "Fuyu ni Wakarete" has consistently unveiled new works. In June 2025, the group sold out a concert at Osaka's Nanko Sunset Hall, followed by another sold-out performance at Tokyo's Hakuju Hall in October. Now, after much anticipation, they present their fourth album.

For this release, Iga and Adachi were involved not only in composition and performance but also in part of the recording and mixing process. The beautiful, delicate, and colorful soundscape that only these three could create resonates through every corner of the space and extends far into the lingering decay of each note. Guest musicians Wakana Ikeda (flute) and Tokutaro Hosoi (guitar), both known for their highly original musical activities, also contribute their distinctive tones to the album.

Ahead of the album's release, the first advance digital single, "Kimi no Tabi," was released on April 1. Written by Terao, the song was inspired by the lives of people throughout history who, despite their youth, were forced to confront their own mortality. The second advance single, scheduled for release on April 22, is "Peppermint Times," featuring lyrics by singer-songwriter Mom, whose sharp and insightful writing has earned acclaim despite his young age. The song depicts a "night train of oblivion" and pairs Mom's words with music composed by Iga. Both songs vividly embody the worldview that leads into the album title, "forgotten."

Asked about what it means for the three of them to make music together, they offered the following thoughts:
"When people ask why we work together, it's because I want diverse elements to coexist within a single album. Thanks to all the effort we've put in, I think we've managed to achieve that goal. A band is like a small symbiotic society." (Terao)
"Working with two people whose sensibilities differ from mine means gradually absorbing the 'something beyond words' that each of them perceives. It expands the world of my own awareness, and that's what I enjoy." (Adachi)
"They help keep my laziness in check." (Iga)

The true essence of "Fuyu ni Wakarete" lies in the multilayered interplay of three distinct sensibilities, woven together into a richly textured sonic world. In this uncertain era of 2026, the group offers one possible form of coexistence brought into being through music. Please enjoy it to the fullest.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0784/4266/0184/files/369_20260703_1042_095127_615_p_page_1_image_1_001.png?v=1783076556
