We’re finally at Dinked 100, the new album from indie legends Field Music! Flat White Moon is released on April 23rd by Memphis Industries.
Since their formation in 2004, Field Music have carved out their own niche of wonky art rock, channeling the studio wizardry of Steely Dan with the funkiness of Talking Heads. Now, for their 7th album, the band has loosened up, taking influence the live feel of recordings from their first musical loves: Led Zeppelin, Free, The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac. The result is Flat White Moon – the band’s most ‘live’ sounding album yet. Lyrically, the album deals with loss, grief and isolation, but with the band’s signature playfulness ensuring that it never becomes a dirge. This is an album truly deserving of the Dinked 100 title!
