Elaine Howley – The Distance Between Heart and Mouth, Dinked Edition Pre-order

Dinked 207 is the debut album from lo-fi psych-pop artist Elaine Howley. As the lead singer of psych-rockers The Altered Hours, Elaine Howley has aways had a passion for experimentation, something that has made her a legend in the Irish underground music scene. Now, for her debut solo release, Howley brings her years of performance in bands into an altogether more low-key project. Imagined as an intimate radio show, The Distance Between Heart and Mouth collects spontaneous moments from Howley’s audio diaries on a 4-track tape recorder. The result is a dizzying mix of classic pop songwriting and deeply textural production, recalling Stereolab, Broadcast, Silver Apples and early Caribou, but with a uniquely lo-fi blanket of warmth over everything. The Distance Between Heart and Mouth is released on August 12th by Touch Sensitive.
